Welcome to Bodywork by jane.
At Bodywork by jane there are a few different roads you can take when it comes to choosing your course of action with Bodywork by jane.

I work with horses, horses and their human partners, and just plain old humans with no horses. If you are reading this chances are you not a horse! But please read on to decide which road will lead you home.

Basic Bodywork
There are so many health benefits to receiving massage/bodywork therapy on a regular or even part time basis:

  • Relieves Stress
  • Encourages Relaxation
  • Improves Posture
  • Improves Circulation
  • Lowers Blood Pressure
  • Helps Manage Pain
  • Relaxes Muscles
  • Improves Flexibility and Range of Motion
  • Relieves Tension-Related Headaches
  • Strengthens The Immune System
  • Enhances Post-Operative Rehabilitation
  • Improves Rehabilitation After Injury

Recent scientific research also proves that massage therapy increases immune function, decreases stress levels and reduces recovery time in many medical conditions including:

  • Allergies
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Asthma and Bronchitis
  • Circulatory Problems
  • Insomnia
  • Sports Injuries
  • Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ)
  • Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Musculo-Skeletal Disordorders

The modalities I use to accomplish BASIC Bodywork are Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Release. They are by far the most effective way to “get to the point” and relieve your nagging muscle pain and restrictions. Many times what seems to be an issue that can only by solved with surgery is alleviated with Trigger Point Therapy and Myofacial Release.

*Remember that you are in control of your health care and never hesitate to consult your primary physician.

Holistic Bodywork
In addition to all the phenomenal physical benefits, there are also the emotional, spiritual and energetic healing aspects of bodywork . If you choose to focus your attention in this direction, the growth you will experience with these intangible elements will be profound.

As a Holistic Health Practitioner I believe that any person or animal has four components that need to be addressed when seeking deep healing - and to truly tap into healing one must give recognition to these parts – physical, emotional, spiritual and energetic - for they all are interdependent upon each other and each affects the well being of the others. Working within the realm of each and every aspect of your being allows the body to begin on its journey to comprehensive healing.

This type of bodywork is quite different than a typical massage that is given with the intent of just making your muscles relax and restoring biomechanical function. While a typical massage is absolutely wonderful all unto itself, if it is whole body healing that you seek, if you are searching for a way to “reconnect the disconnect” within, it is wholistic bodywork that can bring about this type of restoration.

Every cell in your body carries the memory of events in your life; the good – the bad and the ugly. These events can actually affect all aspects of your life today from psychological to physical.

As your bodyworker I combine a deep knowledge of the physical anatomy with intuitive methods of communication and God’s love to facilitate profound avenues of healing and freedom from within you. With consistent bodywork, the layers of life are gently peeled away and the renewed soul emerges.

This type of restoration takes time and you should expect to be committed to the work for a season.

While embarking on your new journey within, many types of healing modalities may be used. These modalities can include: various massage techniques, various energetic techniques, sound healing, chakra balancing, intuitive guidance, prayer, meditations and aromatherapy. Only those modalities that have been discussed , understood and approved of by the client will be employed.

Also please note that the bodyworker and the client should experience a good rapport and if this rapport does not exist, healing cannot take place. You should be able to feel a positive connection at the onset of meeting your bodyworker and you should go with your intuition or “gut” when deciding if the bodyworker you have chosen is right for you.

At Bodywork by jane tremendous relief and comfort can be found. No matter where your focus lies, it is always honored and respected at the highest level. The California Association of Massage Therapists code of ethics is strictly adhered to in this practice. Your comfort and safety is of the utmost importance.

Equine Bodywork

Equine Sport MassageThe work I do with horses is actually quite similar to that of the human. A session runs just about 2 hours and unique blends of healing techniques are used. Each horse is different than the next and should be treated as such. As a matter of fact consecutive sessions on your horse(s) may be different from session to session, and I use healing modalities that are in line with the horse’s needs on that day.

After years of clinics, seminars and schooling, in conjunction with the information acquired from working on almost one thousand horses, my work consists of the use of techniques that have proven to be very successful

The three main modalities I use with horses are: Acupressure, Myofascial Release, and Triggerpoint Therapy. These three techniques may be applied individually or in some cases, simultaneously. I may choose to use all three in one single session or perhaps not. It really does depend on the horse’s needs. However, the goal is always to establish an excellent rapport with the horse so that a deep level of trust is created. Once our relationship is intack, it is then that communication begins and the real work starts. This is always, always done with absolute respect and love for the horse and most importantly – permission from the horse.

I have been certified to work on horses since 2002 and have built a wonderful and rewarding practice in Southern California. If you check out my bio page you can get an idea of my training and background. I love talking with prospective clients, so rather than go on ad nauseum about myself and my work, I encourage you to call me anytime. I’ll gladly answer any questions you may have and we can talk all about your horse and his/her problems and alternative healing needs. If you’re not so chatty, just call, leave a message and we can keep it brief! In any case, don’t hesitate to call. 909-261-0964

Of course massage should never be considered as a panacea
panacea [pan-uh-see-uh]
–noun- a remedy for all disease or ills; cure-all

You should never hesitate to contact your primary care physician or veterinarian to discuss the use of massage therapy.
